NBA All-Star game doesn’t hold attention
Gafford, Jesseica.jpg

Last weekend was NBA All Star Weekend and I will be honest. I didn’t watch any of the events. No skills challenges, no rookie-sophomore game, I didn’t even watch the dunk contest. For me, the game doesn’t really hold the same awe factor that it once did.

When I was younger, I would hang on the edge of my seat for the dunk contest and talk about with the boys in my class. When Vince Carter did his 360-degree dunk, I was one of the children cheering and screaming at the TV, asking if it was really possible for someone to do that.

Michael Jordan would amaze me with his skills and how well he could orchestrate an offense of some of the best players from the first half of the season. But lately, I have stopped watching and I think I finally know why. Its not that it doesn’t interest me, it has just lost its “wow” factor.
