Of course my loved ones would throw parades, build massive memorials in my honor and have a jazz band juke and jive me to my final resting place ... maybe not. But will the guy who makes the “caramel thingy” at The Cake Plate for me or that nice teller at the bank notice that I’m not there to tell them “You’re amazing!” as I flutter in and out of their lives?
Sadly, again, my money’s on “No.”
It takes a special kind of person to evoke the kind of outpouring of emotion that the deaths of John Lennon, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and even Princess Diana did.
