Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Carney, age 84 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in the chapel of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, Rev. Dale Oden and Rev. Dalton Shovan officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Grace Carney was born February 27, 1927, in Dallas, Texas to William Emerly Camp and Sarah Goodwin Camp. She died December 17, 2011, in Ruston.

After living in Texas much of her life, Grace moved to Ruston with her husband Jean and family in 1972. In her spare time, she enjoyed keeping u[ with family and friends via Facebook, genealogical research, playing board games and solving puzzles, watching “The Price Is Right” each morning, molding, firing, and painting ceramics, and sharing in the activities and interests of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Magi Chapter 85.

Mrs. Carney is survived by her four daughters: Connie and husband Glenn Pakebusch, Lynda and husband Charles Richter, Larae and husband Wesley Harris and Nettie and husband Monty Russell; her son Ronnie Carney and wife Susan. Her grandchildren: David Pakebusch and wife Jennifer, Paul Pakebusch and wife Rachel, Wesley Pakebusch and wife Traci, Kathy and husband Clyde Edwards, Christopher Richter and wife Gwyn, Andrea and husband Wesley Hessek, Eric Richter and wife Tracy, Heather O’Malley, Holli Scott, Ben Carney, Preston Carney, Brandon Carney, Trenton Carney and wife Brooke, John Harris, Hayley Harris, Joshua Russell, Amber and husband Russell Johnston, Emily Russell, and Katie Russell.

Her great grandchildren: Brenden Pakebusch, Paige Pakebusch, Savannah Pakebusch, Hannah Smith, Sarah Smith, Abigail Smith, Joanna Pakebusch, Hannah Pakebusch, Rebekah Pakebusch, Tessah Pakebusch, Austin Edwards, Allison Edwards, Christopher Richter, Madalyn Richter, Morgan Richter, Jules Hessek, Kaitlyn Hessek, Eric Richter, Jr., Sydney Richter, London Richter, Ireland Richter, Holland Richter, Abigail O’Malley, Madeline O’Malley, Thomas Scott, Tatum Scott, Lucas Carney, Aidan Johnston, Lilian Johnston, Paxton Johnston and Ophelia Russell and one great great granddaughter Elizabeth Nafzinger. Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jean Samuel Carney and her son Bill Carney.

Pallbearers will be grandsons David Pakebusch, Christopher Richter, Eric Richter, Preston Carney, John Harris and Joshua Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Paul Pakebusch, Wesley Pakebusch, Ben Carney, Brandon Carney and John Harris.
