Safe trick-or-treating goes downtown
“This has been going on for several years. It’s an effort to provide a safe environment for kids to trick-or-treat, and it’s a nice way to get people to come downtown who don’t often get a chance to look in the shops. It also allows the merchants to give back to the community,” Terry said.
Brenda Hudson, co-owner of Schermann’s Pet Shop on Mississippi Avenue, said even though they have only been open for six months, they are ready to get in the Halloween spirit.
