McDonald, Hull marry in October

Tisdale Blair McDonald, of Ruston, and James Andrew “Drew” Hull, of Greenwood, Miss., exchanged wedding vows in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Oct. 8 at Christ Community Church.

The wedding was officiated by the Rev. Len Woods.

Blair is the daughter of Kyle and Tisdale McDonald, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McDonald, of Stonewall, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Knight, of Jennings.
Drew is the son of the late Kent Hull and Kay Hull, of Greenwood, Miss. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ellett Lawrence, of Greenwood, Miss., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hull, of Vaiden, Miss., and the late Sylvia Hand, of Dekalb, Miss.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a gown designed by Watters that featuring ivory silk taffeta with hand embroidered v-neck bodice, capped sleeve and full skirt with pockets with covered buttons on back empire band. The gown featured a chapel-length train. The veil was elbow length, trimmed with silk with a blusher.

The bride carried a handheld round bouquet consisting of white oriental lilies, ivory stock, white calla lilies, white freesia and ivory tulips. Accented with chocolate montbretia pods and a touch of lemon leaf at the base, the bouquet was wrapped with ivory satin ribbon.

Serving Blair as maid of honor were Brooks McDonald, of Nashville, Tenn., and Mary-Kyle McDonald, of Ruston. Bridesmaids for the wedding were Camden Baird, of Inverness, Miss., Ashley Gragson, of Jackson, Miss., Jennifer Harris, of St. Augustine, Fla., Ellen Hull, of Greenwood, Miss., Tatum Johnson, of Ruston, Dendy McDavid, of Memphis, Tenn., Taylor Richardson, of Ruston, Anna Rogers, of Jackson, Miss., Sullivan Saunders, of San Diego, Calif., and Allyce Wilbanks, of Clinton, Miss.

Each bridesmaid wore a dress designed by Swoon. The dresses were made from the Barbados style of silk charmeuse in Midnight Blue.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets made of white oriental lillies, brown montbretia pods, cream stock, lime hypericum berries, orange tulips and wereaccented with lime hanging amaranthus and seeded eucalyptus at the base of the bouquet.

Before his death, Drew’s father Kent Hull served as best man for the wedding ceremony. Groomsmen for the wedding included Michael Attaway, Jr., of Oxford, Miss., Bryce Daves, of Memphis, Tenn., Ben Ford, of Oxford, Miss., Bill Gulledge III, of Oxford, Miss., Tyler Marlin, of Jackson, Miss., Kade McDonald, of Shreveport, Allen McKnight, of Jackson, Miss., Joe Oliver, of Lafayette, William Poindexter, III, of Starkville, Miss., Taylor Sawyer, of Jackson, Miss., and Ross Weems, of Tupelo, Miss.

Ushers during the ceremony were Adam Ellis, of Greenwood, Miss., and Alan Ellis, of Greenwood, Miss.

Mary Laura Hunt, of Ruston, served as flower girl and ring bearers for the wedding were Alex Hunt V and Holt Hunt, both of Ruston.

Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Dee Alexander, soloist Tami Alexander, vocalist Norman Hanes and trumpeter Brian Lassiter.

Lucy Wardlaw, of New Orleans, read scripture during the ceremony.

Book and program attendants were Avery Woodard, of Ruston, Muriel Woodard, of Ruston, and Chloe Woodard, of Ruston.

A reception held in the courtyard of Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant for the couple.

The Squire Creek Country Club staff under the direction of Lane Titus provided catering.
Silk E Smooth, of Birmingham, Ala., provided dance music during the reception.

Prior to the wedding ceremony, several parties were held for the couple.

An Engagement Party was held Aug. 20 at Yianni’s in Greenwood, Miss. The party was hosted by 99 friends of the groom.

At the home of Trott and Karen Hunt, a Cocktail Buffet was held on Aug. 27. The event was hosted by Melinda and Keith Brasuell, Becky and Danny Crawford, Susan and Jay Guillot, Susan and Charles Herold, Kelly and Bill Hogan, Karen and Trott Hunt, Tami and Lamar Johnston, Julie and John Kyte, Melanie and Jedd Lewis, Nancy and Bill Mclntyre, Ann Marie and Drake Mills, Laurie and Jeff Parks, Kathy and Bubba Rasberry, Annie and Peter Richardson, Mary Eleanor and Robert Temple, Kiki and Chastain Wardlaw, and Cindy and Rusty Woodard.

A bridesmaid weekend was held Sept. 2–5 in Destin, Fla., and was hosted by Brooks McDonald and Mary-Kyle McDonald.

On Sept. 17 a miscellaneous shower and brunch was held at Christ Community Church. The shower was hosted by Donna Bernard, Britt Boersma, Helen Boersma, Jeanne Burns, Gwen Dingier, Dell Jones, Carol Kirby, Michele McGehee, Melinda Moore, Debi Newton, Stacey Prescott, Jean Ann Price, Judy Roberts, Ammi Schellinger, Janet Wilson and Cindi Woods.

A Spa Afternoon was held on Oct. 7 at Amberly’s. This event was hosted by Tammy Coates, Sally Graham, Diane Hogan,Terri Lynn Johnson, Sherri Pearce, Jane Tatum and Stacie Woodard.

At the home of Georgeanna and Norman Hanes a bridesmaid luncheon was held on Oct. 8. The luncheon was hosted by Georgeanna Hanes, Allison Knight, Kathy Lewis, Kim Love, Melinda Mclntire and Noel Saunders.

A groomsmen golf outing was held at Squire Creek on Oct. 8 and was hosted by parents of the groom.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Kay and Kent Hull at 102 a Bistro in Ruston on Oct. 7.

The couple plan to honeymoon to Playa de Carmen, Mexico in February and currently reside in Ridgeland, Miss.
