At one area grade school, students are making hand prints to accompany their public statements to stay away from drugs.

Students at a local high school are shooting hoops on the basketball court after spinning around as a demonstration to better see how drugs and alcohol can distort their perceptions.

Other schools are having poster, hall decorating and cheer contests to get into the spirit of being drug free.

In participating in these activities, students are picking up on a number of messages.
