The Floyd L. Sandle Theater in the Conrad Hutchinson Center at Grambling State University will be humming with activity at 7 p.m. June 17 as the 11 contestants vying for a Miss Juneteenth crown prepare to take the stage. The theme for the pageant is “Flight 151: Departing at Gate Opportunity.”
The four contestants competing for the Little Miss Juneteenth crown will be judged on talent and modeling.
The four contestants competing for the Miss Junior Juneteenth crown and three contestants competing for the Miss Juneteenth crown will be judged on talent, modeling and self-expression.
The local Zeta Rho chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha philanthropic group has announced both individual awards and statewide chapter honors received during the past year.
The organization is best known for co-sponsoring the region’s annual St. Jude Radiothon with KXKZ 107.5 radio station.
Locally, member Violet Branham, of Ruston, was recognized as Woman of the Year for her contribution to the chapter.
At the state level she earned her Fifth-Degree Pallas Athene award.
