Local law enforcement and emergency preparedness officials are urging motorists to stay off the roadways as much as possible tonight and Tuesday as yet another round of heavy rain takes aim at Lincoln Parish.
National Weather Service forecasts predict from three to six inches of rainfall by Tuesday morning. That includes the rains that fell Sunday afternoon. The area remains under a flash flood watch.
It’s flooding and the possibility of downed trees because of already saturated ground that worries officials the most.
As students poured into the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center earlier this month to receive extra credit or on assignment for class, they quickly became engaged by the lecture they were attending.
LaGuana K. Gray, a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio presented research in a lecture titled “We Get It! No One Wants Us!: Black Women and the Media-Driven Marriage Crisis,” at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center.
The lecture was part of the Louisiana Tech University History Department’s Black History Month and Women’s History Month events, which were co-sponsored by the Lincoln Parish Library.
