Grambling loses to ASU
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Growing pains continued for Grambling State University’s young offense Saturday as the Tigers fell 31-17 to Alabama State University in Cramton Bowl.
GSU fell to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference action while ASU is now 2-1 and 2-0 in league play.
While Grambling struggled offensively throughout much of the contest, things didn’t go bad until the fourth quarter. In fact, after trailing 10-0 in the first half, Grambling knotted things up at 10-10 at the 9:18 mark of the third quarter as freshman quarterback D.J. Williams connected with Mario Lewis on a 31-yard scoring strike.
