Graveside services for Wesley P. Preis, 51, will be held at the Natchez City Cemetery with Rev. Ray Varnado officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday, La. Visitation will take place at Comer Funeral Home on September 7, 2011 from 12 noon until 2pm with a graveside service to immediately follow at the Natchez City Cemetery.

Mr. Preis was born on May 6, 1960 in Natchez, Mississippi, grew up in Waterproof, La and passed from this life on September 3, 2011 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La after an extended illness. Wesley was born in Natchez, MS however at the time of his passing, resided on Lake St. John in Ferriday, La. A trademark for Wesley loved people and never met a stranger. He truly was a friend to ALL. Wesley had a love for flying and ambitions of obtaining his private pilots license. Additionally, Wesley loved attending live concerts and enjoyed seeing such acts as Willie Nelson, Bob Seger, Crosby, Stills, & Nash, and many others. Before Wesley’s passing, he was working for WMS Marine Inc. where he had ascended to the position of Tankerman. Wesley Preis is a graduate of Tensas Academy in St. Joseph, LA. Upon graduation, he then attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

He is preceded by his father Louis Preis.; his grandparents Ruth and Robert William Crawford, Edna Prichard and Louis Preis Sr.

Survivors include his Phillip Wesley Preis and Richard Louis Preis; his mother Mary Beth Whitehead and husband Herbert of Lake St. John, La; his siblings Louis William “Bill” Preis of Helena, MT, Catherine Ann Davis and husband Cary of Choudrant, Scott Kullman Preis and wife Melissa of Cummings, GA; also survived by nieces, nephews and several aunts and uncles. Also surviving Wesley are his very special friends and caregivers, Kim and Steve.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Bonnette, Eugene Causey, Roy Jackson, and Tony Daves.

The family extends a very heartfelt thank you for your compassion and care to Camellia Hospice of Vidalia, La. Additionally to Dr. Bennett and the nursing staff of ICU at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria.
