Good scores benefit entire community
Lincoln Parish School System freshmen from the 2010-11 school year stepped up to the high-stakes testing plate and hit a home run. In each subject tested, more than 85 percent of students received a passing grade in the new End of Course exam format.
This new format, rather than testing them on overall math or English skills like the GEE, tests students at the end of a particular course such as algebra, geometry or English II.
This was the first year that the test was used to calculate students’ final grades and to determine graduation eligibility. And, they passed with flying colors.
