Amputees deliver ample inspiration
“Our message is a simple one, a visual one,” Sapere said. “As we ride up as amputees, we are saying there is life after amputation. After trauma, you can choose to come to a facility like this or choose to sit in bed feeling sorry for yourself and let life pass you by.”
Johnson then spoke about the car accident that crushed both ankles when she was 17 and about being “differently-abled” after amputation.
“We’re not really disabled,” Johnson said to the crowd. “We’re just not 100 percent like everyone else.”
