Carroll, Haymon exchange vows in June 18 ceremony
Millie Claire Carroll, of Ruston, and Jacob Daniel Haymon, of Pineville, were united in holy matrimony in an 11 a.m. ceremony June 18 at Douglas United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Mike Holloway.
Millie is the daughter of Dale and Claire Carroll, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Walter and Miriam Savage, of Ruston, and the late Guy and Josie Carroll.
Jacob is the son of Jon and Rhonda Haymon, of Pineville. He is the grandson of Arthur and
Dorothy Haymon, of Natchitoches, J.L. and Barbara Johnson, of Pitkin, and the late Doyle Smith and Deloris Smith, of DeRidder.
Millie is a 2008 graduate of Louisiana Tech with a bachelor’s degree in applied child development. She received her Master’s of Arts in teaching in early childhood education.
Jacob is a 2007 graduate of Tech with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering. He is currently employed by the Army Corp of Engineers in Bossier.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory English net over satin Casablanca gown that was adorned with delicate beaded lyon lace appliqués cascading to the scalloped hem. The sleeveless gown featured a fitted bodice, a portrait back and a chapel train.
A champagne hued peonie was arranged within the bride’s neckline chignon. Her bouquet consisted of five large, white hydrangeas tied with a white satin ribbon. A sentimental heirloom Belgium lace handkerchief was woven into the ribbon.
Serving the bride as maid of honor for the ceremony was Mollie Carroll, sister of the bride, of Ruston. Emma Bradley, of Ames, Iowa, Mallory Smith, of Ruston, Macy Waltz, of Lubbock, Texas, Emily Wise, of Ruston, and Jessica Moore, of Arcadia, served as bridesmaids.
The bridesmaids wore an organdy, sunflower shaded tea-length dress featuring a one-shoulder design accented with a matching ribbon belt. They carried three white hydrangeas tied with satin ribbon.
Trent Haymon, brother of the groom, of Pineville, served as best man for the wedding and Steven Blaney, of New Orleans, Brian Foster, of Ruston, Matthew Stone, of Ruston, Robert Moore, of Arcadia, and Josh Jordan, of Choudrant, served as groomsmen.
Lizzie Moore, of Arcadia, served as flower girl for the wedding and Lewis Moore, of Arcadia, served as ringbearer.
Craig Rush, of Ruston, served as a scripture reader. Music for the ceremony was provided by Cody Chandler.
A reception was held in honor of the newly married couple at the T.L. James House.
The reception was catered by Jr’s of Simsboro and music was provided by Robert Brown.
A rehearsal dinner was held the night prior to the wedding at Douglas United Methodist Church. Hosted by the groom’s parents, the dinner was catered by Hot Rod Barbecue.
Prior to the wedding a few showers were hosted for the couple. On April 2, a couple’s shower was held at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Pineville. The shower was hosted by Jon and Rhonda Haymon, Robert and Jessica Moore, Warren and Jennifer Byrd, Brian and Beth Foster, Jessie and Connie Campbell and Stan and Natalie Byrd.
On May 14 a miscellaneous shower was held at Cook Baptist Church. The shower was hosted by the ladies of Adult 4 Sunday School Department.
A miscellaneous shower was held for the couple on April 30 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ruston. Lisa Causey, Debbie Waltz, Ginger Babcock, Suzanne McCarter, Mariam Stone and Ginger Walpole served as hostesses.
On June 5, a Pampered Chef shower was hosted by Mollie Carroll, Jessica Moore, Mallory Smith, Emma Bradley, Emily Wise and Macy Waltz.
A bridesmaid luncheon was held June 17 at Squire Creek Country Club. It was hosted by Martha Callender, India Carroll and Dorothy Semon.
The couple will honeymoon in Key West, Fla., and upon returning will reside in Ruston.
