Louisiana Tech University’s fall 2012 enrollment data released today shows a substantial increase in the quality of its incoming freshmen and a rise in its main campus headcount, but a slight decrease in the total enrollment.
The average freshman ACT score for fall 2012 is 24.1, which is up from 23.81 in fall of 2011, and is the highest in the university’s history. Tech’s average freshman ACT score also exceeds the state average of 20.3 and the national average of 21.1.
The Summer Reading Program at the Lincoln Parish Library had another successful year.
Library Director Vivian McCain was to release statistics on the number of participants involved during the recent Library Board of Control Meeting, but was unable to.
She released to statistics in a email to the Leader and board members earlier this week.
For the children’s program, more than 23,000 children’s materials were checked out. The number of children attending the 115 programs offered was 4,937.
Of the original 716 children who participated in the program, 378 completed it.
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department, Community Services Division/TRIAD, SALT Advisory Council, Sheriff’s Citizen Observer Patrol (SCOP) and the Reserve Division of the sheriff department will be on patrol in the parking lots of Graham Shopping Center and Walmart Supercenter, stepping up patrols in an effort to deter crime during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
The sheriff’s department’s SCOP unit and Reserve Unit will be on patrol for the Thanksgiving holidays from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
