Beasley dedicates genius to community
Whether it was in the classroom as a Louisiana Tech professor or serving her constituents on the School Board, she always put the education of others first.
Paul Pennington, Beasley’s speech professor in the 1950s and her department head when she became a professor at Tech, said he has never had a student who was superior to Beasley in all his time at Tech.
“She was really an incredibly wonderful student,” Pennington said. “She was neat, moral, decent, kind; she was everything you would want a student to be.”
