Charles Ray Polk, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles Ray Polk, Sr. 62, Presiding Mayor of Dubach, will be 11AM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at New Prospect Baptist Church near Dubach. Ray died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his residence in Dubach following a brief illness. Bro. Dale Nugent will officiate under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel of Ruston.

Ray served in the US Coast Guard and had been sworn in as Mayor of Dubach in January of 2011. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed taxidermy.

Doyle R. Parker

Funeral Services for Doyle R. Parker, 86, of Monroe will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 23,2012 at College Place Baptist Church, 301 Sherrouse Avenue, Monroe, LA with Dr. Bryant Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Parker was born as the bells were ringing in the New Year in Jackson, MS on January 1, 1926 and departed to his Heavenly home after a lengthy illness Sunday Evening at his home on the bayou.

Barbara C. Rodney

Barbara C. Rodney of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Compton, CA and Ruston, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 March 1, 2012. She has gone to be with God and her beloved husband of 39 years Sterling Rodney Sr.

Barbara C. Rodney was born November 28, 1936, the first child of Jonnie and Rosia Lewis in Ruston, Louisiana.

She was a proud graduate of Lincoln High in 1955. She also received her B.S. in secondary education, from Grambling College in 1960. “Go Tigers”
