Services celebrating the life of Coach Robert Scott “Scotty” Robertson, III will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA on Sunday, August 21st at 2:00PM. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Hilbun, Brian Mercer, and Cathy Brewton. The family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, August 20th at Trinity United Methodist Church's Fellowship Hall from 5:00PM-7:00PM. He will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Ruston, LA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Louisiana Tech Athletics Department or School of Education, C.E.

ODell Madison

Funeral Services for Mr. ODell Madison will be held Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Clay, La with Pastor Kenneth Sapp, officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

ODell Madison was born February 13, 1955 in Monroe, LA to Reddie Madison Owens and O. D. Thurman. He departed this earthly life on August 12 at Minden Medical Center.

ODell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and remained a member until his death.

Howell Raedell Tatum, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Howell Raedell Tatum, Sr., age 85 of Ruston, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2011 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston. Rev. Tommy Gray will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Choudrant Memorial Cemetery in Choudrant.

Funeral services will be held for Valla Mae McDow Waits, 93, at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Arcadia. Rev. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Hurricane cemetery.

Funeral services for John Larry Rabb, age 85, will be held at 10:30am on Aug. 18 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, La. Officiating will be Bro. John Harp, Associate Pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm on Wed. Aug. 17 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 3pm on Thursday at Cook Town Cemetery in Ruston, La.

A memorial service for Walter James Haese, age 79 of Choudrant, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston. Pastor Hulen Warren will officiate the service. He died Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Ruston.

Buddy “Irvin L.” Fallin

Buddy “Irvin L.” Fallin, age 88, of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at his home. Mr. Fallin was born August 28, 1922, to Irvin and Aletha Fallin in Ruston, Louisiana. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Stamps, AR, a former coach at Stamps School, and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Fallin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William T. Fallin; and his sister, Cornelia Oxford.

Donald Reggie Trant

Funeral services for Donald Reggie Trant, 56, of Choudrant will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Douglas United Methodist Church. Pastor Charles Penuell is officiating. Interment follows at Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston.

Reggie was born on Jan. 30, 1955 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on Aug. 10, 2011 in Ruston, LA. He was a skilled switcher in oil/gas industry for ArkLa Gas/Devon Gas Co. He loved to fish and ride his motorcycles. He will be missed by many. Reggie was preceded in death by his parents James and Lona Trant.

Frank J. Ensley

Frank J. Ensley age 84 of Ruston, LA passed away August 5, 2011. He was a lifetime resident of Lincoln Parish born July 16, 1927. He attended school at Grambling College elementary school though college. He began his professional career with the Old Negro League Baseball, Indianapolis Clowns, Edmonton Braves and ended his baseball career with the Kansas City Monarch. Upon returning home he served as dorm counselor and assistant baseball coach with Ralph Waldo “Prez” Jones, for a short period.

Marvin E. Higginbotham, Jr.

Mr. Marvin E. Higginbotham, Jr., age 86 of Ruston, LA and affectionately known as Bud, passed away August 6 ,2011. He was born in Waterproof, LA on October 31, 1924.

Bud graduated from Waterproof High School and LA Tech University. He joined the United States Navy during World War II and served honorably until September 9, 1946. Mr. Higginbotham worked for the Department of Vocation Rehabilitation until his retirement and was a member of St. Joseph-Tensas Lodge #309 F&AM. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin E. Higginbotham, Sr. and Louise Seaman Higginbotham.
