Doris Elizabeth Rinehart Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Rinehart Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Burnley will officiate, assisted by Rev. Steve Caraway.  Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Jones passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was born September 19, 1921 in Choudrant , LA to the late L. J. and Docia Rinehart. Mrs. Jones worked with her husband as a Class 4 radio operator at a Columbus, MS transmitter station.

Dickie Lou “Dick” Henderson

Mr. Dickie Lou “Dick” Henderson of Dubach, LA died in the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe, LA, June 13, 2011. Dick was born March 14, 1929, in Burlington, IA and grew up in Biggsville, IL. In 1944, his family relocated to Southern California where Dick attended the University of California-Berkeley. He postponed graduation to serve his country in the Navy at Pearl Harbor, HA, and later returned to graduate from Berkeley with a degree in mechanical engineering. Dick was a registered Professional Engineer in California and Texas.

Justin Edwin Garrison

Justin Edwin Garrison, 84, of Little Rock, passed away June 6, 2011. He was born in Little Rock to Jasper and Margie Garrison. Graduating from Little Rock High School, Justin entered the U.S. Army and then attended Little Rock Junior College and Hendrix. He graduated from S.M.U. in Dallas where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and helped to start the Arkansas Club on campus. He then moved to Ruston, Louisiana where he joined Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the choir and the Men’s Quartet. He was a longtime member of the Ruston Kiwanis Club.

Professor Emeritus Robert C. Snyder, Sr.

Professor Emeritus Robert C. Snyder, Sr., 92, departed this life Wednesday, June 8, 2011 just nine weeks after the death of his beloved wife of 65 years, Virginia Webb Snyder. Robert Snyder was born in Niota, Tennessee on April 30, 1919, the youngest of six children. He attended Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee; studied at Florence State now the University of Northern Alabama; Western Kentucky; Tulane; and attended graduate school at Vanderbilt. He with his family spent summers at University of Mississippi and University of Alabama.

Louis “Dunnie” Preis

Graveside services for Mr. Louis “Dunnie” Preis, 75, who passed away Wednesday, June 8 at his residence, will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Natchez City Cemetery with Rev. Ray Varnado officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday. Mr. Preis was born November 14, 1935 in Waterproof, LA, the son of Louis Preis, Sr. and Edna Joyce Prichard Preis. “Dunnie” had been a resident of West Monroe for a year and formerly of Waterproof. He was an outstanding athlete, who excelled in the sports of football and track in his high school days.

Robert “Terry” Foster, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Terry” Foster, Sr. age 74, of Ruston will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Byargeon and Rev. David Abernathy. Interment will follow at Camp Creek Cemetery on Hwy. 550 in Spearsville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Foster was born March 25, 1937, in Spearsville, LA, to Clayton and Farris Foster. He passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at his home in Ruston.

Aubrey Aulds

Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey Aulds, age 83, of Mineral Springs will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2011 at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Hanna. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Aulds was born October 26, 1927 and passed away June 7, 2011. Mr. Aulds was an honorably discharged Veteran from the Merchant Marines. He was a direct descendant of James Huey, who was the first settler in North East Louisiana and who fought in the Revolutionary War. Mr.

Jewel Dale James

Funeral services for Jewel Dale James, age 77, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, TX. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery. Mr. James was born September 13, 1933 to Jack and Mandy Cauthen James in Brushy Mound, Texas and passed away June 4, 2011 in Ruston, LA. Mr. James married Carolyn Joyce Langford on May 28, 1954 in Carthage, Texas. He and Carolyn had three sons. He retired as a Safety Engineer for H.B. Zachary in Longview, Texas.

Loie Dillard Stigall

Funeral Services for Mrs. Loie Dillard Stigall, age 93, of Ruston, will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Byargeon, with a private family committal to follow at Sardis Cemetery near Farmerville. Mrs. Stigall was born in Farmerville, LA on June 15, 1917, and passed away in Ruston, LA on June 7, 2011. She was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher as well as active in other ministries of the church.

Services for Sigal Marie Burdine Bond Kavanaugh Ory, age 88, of Ruston will be held Thursday June 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jim Benbrook. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Born September 14, 1922 in Springhill, LA. and died June 6, 2011 in Ruston, LA. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Newton H. Kavanaugh and her second husband, Paul Richard Ory. Sigal attended Hillcrest Elementary and A.E.
