Alice Ann Kerby Woodard

081110 OBIT Alice Woodard BW.jpg

Alice Ann Kerby Woodard was born in Cordova, Alabama on August 16, 1940. She passed away six days shy of her 70th birthday on August 10, 2010 after a long illness.

She was blessed with many gifts in her life, including her greatest joy which was being a wife to her life long mate, Emmett Ray Woodard, whom she was married January 20, 1961 and being a mother to her three children, Keith, Kerby and Tiffani. Alice Ann was a faithful lifelong member of Alabama Baptist Church in Arcadia, LA. She was a former Sunday school teacher and choir member and loved volunteering for her church. She was so generous and will be greatly missed by all who knew her and we all were blessed to have had her in our lives. She was a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Theo M. Kerby and Lois Lester Kerby, and by her brothers James M. Kerby and William “Billy” Kerby. She is survived by her husband Emmett Ray Woodard, her brother Charles T. Kerby and wife Rose, her three children, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. The Woodard family is very grateful and would like to thank our many family members, friends and caregivers who showed their compassionate care with continuous love, prayers and support for Alice Ann and our family. We would like to specially thank Kathy Spears, Raquel Foster, Rosie Boyd, Lynn Hill, Tracy Futch and all our family of Professional Hospice.
