Tech 2011 Hall of Fame announced

Louisiana Tech University’s athletic Hall of Fame class for 2011 has an impressive blend of success and skills in a plethora of areas.
Football?
Welcome in Matt Dunigan, Matt Stover and David Lee.
Basketball?
How about Paul Millsap, Mike McConathy and Venus Lacy?
Baseball?
T.J. Soto is the man.
And if he wasn’t also one of the inductees, veteran play-by-play broadcaster Dave Nitz could introduce what is arguably one of the most prestigious Hall of Fame classes in school history.

Bullock seeks District 12 seat

Businessman Jason Bullock has officially announced his candidacy for the District 12 seat in the Louisiana House of Representatives.
Bullock was an honor graduate of Ruston High School and graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He and his wife Lana have been married for 14 years, and have an 18-month old son, Jackson.

New school year heats up with bash

Nearly 4,000 gather at annual event

Nearly 4,000 students, teachers, parents and community volunteers packed into the National Guard Armory on Thursday evening to kick off the school year at the Fifth Annual Communitywide Back-to-School Bash.
Despite the sweltering heat that filled the building, more than 3,800 people were abuzz with activity as they visited booths offering information about schools, food and various community organizations and events. Throughout the event there were also various games, contests and giveaways.
