Waggoner Engineering Director of Planning and Special Programs Barry Royals suggested the creation of a treatment plant for Lake D’Arbonne water be done in phases. Farmerville water customers would be Phase I and Ruston Phase II. The cost to construct Phase I is $26 million, and the cost to construct Phase II would be $63.4 million.

Albritton’s work on display

The Lincoln Parish Library will present paintings by Sarah Albritton, featuring selections from the exhibition On My Way along with new works. The exhibit will run through April 29 at the Library Events Center, located at 910 N. Trenton St. There will be a reception honoring Albritton from 3-5 p.m. today.

New love flourishes for Cox and Boniol

Cathi Cox-Boniol never imagined that the bus driver with a cute dimple she met on a field trip with her job with the Lincoln Parish School Board would someday take a trip down the aisle with her.
Her first encounter with him was while she was fretting over how to get a huge cooler on the bus. She was in the middle of telling a co-worker that she would have to get some kids to help her, when he showed up.
“Before I could finish, the cooler was gone,” Cox-Boniol said. “I thought, ‘It’s a hulk.’”
