Make that 46 years having elapsed since arguably (well, there may not even be any arguing) the most talked-about play in the series’ history occurred.

DEVILLE — In a game of old-fashioned, smash-mouth football pitting size against speed, it was the bigger and stronger team that won Friday night as Buckeye downed Cedar Creek 23-8.
The Cougars didn’t go down easy, though. Cedar Creek opened scoring on the first play of the second quarter as the Buckeyes snapped the ball over their punter’s head and out of the end zone for a safety and 2-0 lead for the Cougars.
