Of combat and ambushes

A few days ago my team conducted its first combat mission with the Afghan battalion we advise and support. This was a historic mission as it was the first time an Afghan battalion was working with the Romanians. The Romanians are part of NATO. We also had the Afghan police and U.S. police mentor team with us. We conducted cordon and searches with two elements, one moving north to south and the Romanians and one Afghan platoon blocking in the south. Usually intelligence drives operations, but in this case the Afghan HQ just wanted to do this mission, and they came along to watch.

Fans fill Tech’s TAC

“I think they need to have the tournament here permanently,” said Maddox, who was among an estimated 700 Fairview fans cheering on the Lady Panthers (43-2) to win No. 27 in a row. “The people here were so gracious and helpful that they made you really feel like you were back home. This facility (Assembly Center) is great. There’s not a bad seat in the house.”
Attendance was estimated at 3,000 for the four games in two different classifications (Class 3A and B)
