RHS, Mandeville collide on Friday

The Bearcats (7-3, 5-1) will be one of two entries out of District 1-5A to reach postseason play, the other being No. 1 ranked West Monroe (9-0), who will play host to West Jefferson (4-6) on Friday night.

Alexander elected to third term

“It’s been mean out there, especially at the national level,” Alexander said. “I thank you for standing behind us.”
While support for Alexander was expected to be strong in his home area of north central Louisiana, Hearn had counted on support from her home base of central Louisiana. However, Alexander collected 64 percent of the vote in Rapides Parish — Hearn’s home.
Nationally, Democrats wrestled control of the House of Representatives away from Republicans, and if they could capture two hotly contested Senate races, they would also control the upper chamber.
