PUBLIC NOTICE A Community Meeting

PUBLIC NOTICE
A Community Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2011, at 6:30 PM at the Grambling Community Center located at 127 King Street, Grambling, LA. All area officials and affected landowners are invited to attend.  This meeting will be sponsored by Diversified Land Management, Inc. and CGGVeritas Land (U.S.) Inc.  These companies will be conducting seismic operations in Lincoln Parish in T18N R4W, Sec 1,2,3,8,9,10,11,12, 13,14,15,17,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27, 28,29 and in T18N R3W, Sec 5,6,7,8,17,18,19,20. These seismic operations will be conducted during the months of July through October, 2011 and should be completed on or about November 1, 2011.

Couple celebrates 50 years

Pete and Kay Thiels, of Ruston, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married May 20, 1961. The Thiels have six children, which include Margaret, Paul, Joanie, Joe, Andrew and the late Mary Beth. They have seven grandchildren, including Josie, Albanie, Ben, Sam, Grady, Lillian and Bea.

Scott, Wall marry at Temple

Emily Anne Scott, of Jackson, Miss., and William Austin Wall, of Austin, Texas, were married on May 21 at Temple Baptist Church. The Rev. Barry Jeffries officiated the ceremony.

Emily is the daughter of Christopher and Laurie Anne Scott, of Livingston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Phillip and Barbara Washington, of Ruston, Clint and Vernaughn Scott, of Ruston, and Rick and Judy Rushton, of Slidell.

The Lincoln Parish Police Jury met in regular session on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at its regular meeting place in the Courthouse, Ruston, Louisiana. Present were: Theresa Moore Wyatt, District One; Hazel D. Hunter, District Two; Bobby Bennett, District Three; Mike Franklin, District Four; David Hammons, District Five; Roy Glover, District Six; Jody Backus, District Seven; R. G. “Skip” Russell, District Eight; Joe Henderson, District Nine; Annie Brown, District Ten; Sharyon Mayfield, District Eleven; and R. D. “Mickey” Mays, District Twelve.
ABSENT: None
