Services for James Reagan Odom, 91, will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church., officiated by special friend and pastor, Rev. Brian Mercer. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Reagan was born in Union Parish on March 13, 1921, to Jesse Reagan and Lydia Boulware Odom. He entered into rest on Saturday, February 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley Sherman Odom, and his parents.

RHS cheerleaders place first at nationals

f anyone has seen a Ruston High School cheerleader with a little extra pep in her step, it’s probably because of the success the athletic team experienced for the third consecutive year during the National Cheerleaders Association Senior and Junior High Nationals Competition held Jan. 12-13.

St. Jude mom shares memories as radiothon approaches

Ruston resident Mallory Hilton accumulated only five weeks of memories of her 4-year-old son, Mason, before the images of St. Jude Hospital began to be intermingled with them. But Hilton is extremely glad that those images of St. Jude exist.
Mason returned Dec. 20 from his latest checkup at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and “everything was good,” Hilton reports. “We’ll go back next December, and if everything is fine, they’ll transfer him to after-treatment care.”
