Kittens lose to Mangham

GRAMBLING — Penalties, fumbles, interceptions and missed tackles caused another unsuccessful night for the Grambling High Kittens (1-3).
The Mangham High Dragons(4-0) defeated the Kittens 37-6 Friday night at the Eddie Robinson Stadium.

RJHS seventh grade boosts record to 3-1

Ruston Junior High’s seventh grade football team was a recent 20-0 winner against Monroe Lee Junior High.
The Bearkittens’ victory featured touchdown runs from James Caesar, Rontavious Williams and Jessie Sawyer and a two-point conversion run by Parker King.

Recent showers have meant my lawn needs mowing more often than it did a year ago when heat and drought saved me a good bit in mower gas money.
While making the rounds on my mower a few days ago, I approached the water meter in my front yard which is ground level so I usually mow over it. Something caught my eye as the wheel of the mower passed within inches of the lid. Several heads popped out of the hole in the top and my immediate reaction was to skee-daddle away from what I thought was a yellow jacket nest.

Tech tandem eyeing berth in national fishing tourney

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Two Louisiana Tech University students will help comprise one of the 20 collegiate teams who will be competing in the National Guard FLW College Fishing event that is headed to Lake Dardanelle Thursday through Saturday for the Southern Conference Championship presented by Chevy.
