Those two technicians of the last-minute comeback could identify with Cedar Creek High School’s fate going into the final quarter of Thursday night’s game against Booker T. Washington at Shreveport’s Independence Stadium.
The Cougars trailed, 28-7.
Final score?
Cedar Creek 34, BTW 28.
After being dominated by the Class 2A member Lions, the Cougars rebounded with four unanswered touchdowns and a game-winning four-yard TD throw from quarterback Mark Van to wide receiver Ryan Dwyer in the second overtime.

Tech ups votes in coaches’ poll

Bulldogs now tied for No. 35 in nation with Missouri

With another 56-point production on offense, Louisiana Tech University sent another message Saturday night that voters on national polls should keep the Bulldogs in mind.
Apparently, the USA Today Top 25 rankings voted on by coaches from throughout the country listened.
Tech, which slammed Rice 56-37 at Joe Aillet Stadium and remained undefeated through two games, had five more points in the poll that was announced on Sunday night.

Techsters’ defense leads comeback victory

HAMMOND — Going up against one of the highest scoring offenses in the country in Southeastern Louisiana, the Louisiana Tech defense had their hands – and feet – full on Sunday at the Southeastern Soccer Complex.
Despite giving up an early first period goal to the Lions, the defensive line stood tall allowing the offense to use their second half magic to spark a 2-1 come-from-behind victory, their first comeback win of the season.
