Techsters named for Dixon event

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Women’s basketball pioneer and New York Liberty legend, Teresa Weatherspoon will make her Garden coaching debut in the annual Maggie Dixon Classic, MSG Sports and the Dixon Family announced Tuesday.
Duke, Louisiana Tech, Rutgers and local favorite St. John’s University will take to the court at the World’s Most Famous Arena on Dec. 9 in what has become the nation’s premier women’s college basketball showcase. The national matchups will mark the seventh anniversary of the Maggie Dixon Classic and the sixth consecutive season The Garden has hosted the event.

Teachman: Big day at NCAA tournament

Former Simsboro High student has two eagles to lead LSU golfers

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Senior Tessa Teachman, a former Simsboro High School student, eagled the par four first hole and par five ninth hole to propel her to a 3-under par round of 69 to lead the LSU Lady Tigers who posted a 5-over round of 293 after the first round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
