Pre-k news
The pre-k class is finishing up with their two-week lesson on Louisiana. We have discovered Louisiana culture through music, agriculture and food. On Friday, we will have a potluck snack of Louisiana foods. For fun, we will cook red beans and rice. The Mardi Gras parade was a wonderful experience for the students. The bikes and wagons looked amazing. We would like to again congratulate King Kesler and Queen Morghan for a job well done with their box tops.

Sure enough, Saline High School’s girls are returning to the Thomas Assembly Center, just as they had hoped for several months ago.
Back in December, Lady Bobcats’ Head Coach brought his traditionally strong team to the facility to watch Louisiana Tech University’s Lady Techsters play host to Mississippi State University.
“While we’re watching the game, I told my team, now this (the TAC) is where we want to be in March,” Williams recalled.

Lance Waldron realizes that a giant task is awaiting his Simsboro High School team on Saturday afternoon at the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Tigers (30-6) have the dubious assignment of facing Zwolle (41-4) in the Class B championship game of the 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic Association “Top 28” tournament.
“They’ve won 13 state championships, won seven in a row during one stretch in the 1980s, won last year and have won four of the last six,” noted Waldron, now in his sixth season as head coach at Simsboro. High. “They’ve won 41 games this year. They’ve won their last 26 games.

Techsters end season jinx against Hawaii

in

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Louisiana Tech University exorcised its Hawaii Rainbow Wahine demons Wednesday afternoon, as the Lady Techsters defeated UH 63-54 in the first quarterfinal game of the 2012 Western Athletic Conference tournament at the Orleans Arena.
Tech (16-14) will now advance to a Friday semifinal game against Utah State.
“My hats off to Hawaii,” said Tech head coach Teresa Weatherspoon. “They are a very well-coached basketball team that’s had our number all season long. It was a difficult battle for us to even get going. When you are playing against a team like this, as hard as they play, it’s tough to get going. You have to find a way to battle through adversity. We were fortunate to get out of here with a win.”
