Students succeed at music rally

Cedar Creek wants to offer congratulations to the following students who participated in the North Louisiana High School Music Rally.
All the students received a rating of “I” (first place) in their performance event.
Those students in the Girls Ensemble were Saraf Ahmed, Catherine Hild, Shelby Raley, Katie Grappe, Victoria Sullivan, Domari Thomas, Morgan Vann, Brooke Evans, Irene Hild, Sarah Grimm and Chloe Kascvinsky.

Focus on the Family president speaks at Life Choices event

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly spoke to a packed house March 13 at Ruston’s Civic Center after Life Choices of North Central Louisiana won a national contest to bring him here.
Life Choices, a local pregnancy help center located at 211 W. Texas Ave., won a contest that featured Daly as the speaker, with all expenses paid by Focus on the Family. The contest called for a 3-minute video that showcased an abortion-minded client who chose life for their baby.

Aspasia prints Stoff’s article

In a recently published article, Louisiana Tech University assistant professor of history Laurie S. Stoff takes a new look at the vitally important roles of Russian women in medical services during World War I.
Titled “The ‘Myth of the War Experience’ and Russian Wartime Nursing during World War I,” Stoff’s article appears in the current issue of Aspasia, the International Yearbook of Central, Eastern and Southeastern European Women’s and Gender History.
