GRAMBLING — After interviewing seven finalists recommended by a search committee, President Frank G. Pogue announced today that Percy “Chico” Caldwell will assume the position of athletic director at Grambling State University, pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. More than 50 applications were received.

GRAMBLING — Wednesday marked the first day of African-American History Month, and Grambling State University kicked it off in a special way by hosting its inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Leadership Award Luncheon.
A crowd gathered at the Black and Gold Room in the Favrot Student Union where the event was put on to recognize people, who through their service to their state, region or country, exemplified the character of King.
“We have celebrated (King), and rightly so, for more than 40 years for the work he did for all of us,” GSU President Frank Pogue said. “And we will continue to do that for years to come.”
