CHS honor benefits many

When local entities receive national attention, it reflects well on our entire parish. And, this year, Choudrant High School has brought a great deal of positive attention to the area.
First, the school was named one of the state’s Top Gains Schools, based on their 19-point increase in their School Performance Score. This also landed the school with an “A” letter grade from the state.

Stirring up higher education trouble

There is dumb, and there is dumber. Southern University Board of Supervisors member Tony Clayton’s notion to bring Grambling State University into the Southern system as a cost-saving measure goes in the dumber category.
The trial balloon sank like a lead balloon. The proposal was not on the Southern board’s November agenda as Clayton had first promised. GSU, Clayton had said, isn’t a priority of the University of Louisiana system of which the school is a member. So folding it into the Southern system was going to make it a priority there?

THE CITY of Grambling is filing an application with USDA Development for funding to provide Vehicles for the Police Department. Approval on April 5, 2012, by the Grambling City Council. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.”
