The Bulldogs (1-2) will play Mississippi State University (1-2) at Davis Wade Stadium, where the cowbells are seemingly in a 24/7 mode by fans in Starkville.
No need to remind Dykes, the second-year head coach at Tech.

When it comes to the Louisiana Tech men’s basketball program, arguably no other player got a quicker jump to their college career than Paul Millsap.
The current Utah Jazz forward was a three-year starter for Louisiana Tech from 2002-05 and made an immediate impact for then Coach Keith Richard’s Bulldogs from his first practice with the team.
“From the word go, Paul was a real joy to watch,” Richard said. “We saw first thing what was happening.

Tigers’ historic 1968 game in Yankee Stadium featured by CBS Sports

GRAMBLING — For Brian Davis and Alexis Arguello, the “1st and Goal in the Bronx, 1968: Grambling vs. Morgan State” was more than just a documentary to co-produce for the CBS Sports Network.
Over the five months that they worked on the project, it became a labor of love and admiration.
“It is a great and wonderful story about the first football game ever to be played between historically black colleges at Yankee Stadium,” said Davis. “We had a short staff and budget, but the rewards were tremendous. It was an honor to be involved in it and to see the tremendous sense of pride that everybody felt about their schools.”

Balloons cause power outage

in

About 500 Ruston power customers were without power this morning for about 30 minutes beginning at 10:16 a.m.
Darrell Caraway, public utilities manager for the city, said a business hosting a grand opening ceremony caused the power outage.
“They had a bunch of those aluminum balloons get away from them and they were tangled in the power lines,” he said. “The outage was centrally located to the downtown area of Ruston.”
Caraway added that everything has been fixed and all electricity should be back on.
“We have taken down those lines, repaired them and put them back up,” he said.
