Ex-officer shares Hurricane Katrina experience

Cedar Creek middle school students had a chance earlier last week to learn a lesson in leadership from someone who has seen first-hand how important good leadership is.
Former Captain Tim Bayard, who served as the commander of the Vice and Narcotics Division of the New Orleans Police Department during Hurricane Katrina, stopped by to tell students about his experiences. After the storm, Bayard said he was demoted because he told Congress the New Orleans Office of Emergency Preparedness failed.

Class officers take their seats

Dubach High School would like to announce the following class officers.
The 2011-12 Senior Class Officers are President Logan Reeves, Vice-President Jennifer Inman, Secretary and Treasurer Shakenna Nathan and Sergeant at Arms Jordan Jennings.
The 2011-12 Student Council officers and representatives are President Joshua Anderson, Vice-President Shalunda Johnson, Secretary Shekenna Nathan, Treasurer Delessa Richard, 12th Grade Representatives Virgil Mack and Logan Reeves, 11th grade representative Jaemal Crosby, 10th grade representatives Benjamin Fields and Kaleb Reeves, ninth grade representatives Summer Griffith and Aisha Johnson, eighth grade representative Ollivia Fields, seventh grade representative Jon Hartwell and sixth grade representative Victoria Brooke Landry.

There is an exciting new program at Dubach High School. For 25 minutes each day, students are given an opportunity to participate in an informal education setting.
This program is called ib4e (Intervention before Enrichment). Students are able to choose an enrichment of their choice.

Fifth graders support ’Dogs

Things are off to a great start in preschool. We’re going into our third week here at school.
Over these past weeks, the students have been learning about their new school, learning the routines and rules of the classroom. There are big plans for my students this school year; field trips, parades and programs just to name a few. The students are excited and eager to learn.
