’Dogs start reporting Sunday

Dykes, staff to greet 100 players for fall training camp

For 100 student-athletes at Louisiana Tech University, summer “down time” officially ends on Sunday.
That’s the total number of Bulldogs who will start checking in for the start of fall training camp and preparing for the program’s 2011 season that is less than a month away.
The Sunday session will consist chiefly of orientation meetings and having players check into their dormitory rooms.

Kristen Clark made her first year of track and field competition at the high school level a charm.
The Ruston High javelin thrower who was among Louisiana’s top Class 4A performers during the spring capped off a super season recently by finishing No. 4 at the USATF Junior Olympic national meet in Wichita, Kan.

Robert P. Willett

Robert P. Willett of Waskom, Texas passed away August 3, 2011. He was born August 5, 1932 in Clay, Louisiana to the late Odis P. and Sallie L. Willett. He was a graduate of Quitman High School, attended LSU and graduated from Louisiana Tech in Petroleum Engineering. He served in the US Army, spending time in Japan and Korea.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sarah Ellen Willett, his beloved wife, Mary Mullinax Willett and step-son, Bobby Duke, niece, Sarah Ann Buford and nephew, David Roaden.
