Technical-Sergeant Joseph Andrew Javens

Technical-Sergeant Joseph Andrew Javens, age 49 of Ruston, joined our Lord, Monday, June 13, 2011. Joe Javens was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1961, second oldest of four sons, to Joseph Leroy Javens and Edna Rae Rose Javens. He served in the U. S. Air Force for four years then entered the reserves for 23 years, where he was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in the 917th squadron in Bossier City, LA.

Doris Elizabeth Rinehart Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Rinehart Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Burnley will officiate, assisted by Rev. Steve Caraway.  Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Jones passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was born September 19, 1921 in Choudrant , LA to the late L. J. and Docia Rinehart. Mrs. Jones worked with her husband as a Class 4 radio operator at a Columbus, MS transmitter station.

Dickie Lou “Dick” Henderson

Mr. Dickie Lou “Dick” Henderson of Dubach, LA died in the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe, LA, June 13, 2011. Dick was born March 14, 1929, in Burlington, IA and grew up in Biggsville, IL. In 1944, his family relocated to Southern California where Dick attended the University of California-Berkeley. He postponed graduation to serve his country in the Navy at Pearl Harbor, HA, and later returned to graduate from Berkeley with a degree in mechanical engineering. Dick was a registered Professional Engineer in California and Texas.

The Ruston Housing Authority, Ruston, Louisiana, and the Farmerville Housing Authority, Farmerville, Louisiana, are inviting proposals from independent public accounting firms to perform the independent annual single audit of the Authority’s various programs as required of recipients of federal funding for fiscal years ending June 30, 2011 and September 30, 2011 and June 30, 2012 and September 30, 2012 respectively.
