Tech in Conference USA future?

Speculation remains until movement occurs in NCAA

It’s no secret: if there’s a future conference affiliation favorite in the minds of Louisiana Tech University fans, it’s spelled with four letters: C-USA.
Will that come about one of these days?
“Stay tuned” may be the most appropriate message to heed regarding any future conference hookup for Tech, which has been a member of the Western Athletic Conference since 2001.

Three Ruston High School players are among Louisiana’s diamond elite for the 2011 season.
Two members of the Bearcats’ state semifinalist squad and a representative from the Lady Bearcats’ postseason participants have been chosen to the annual Class 4A All-State teams for their sport by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

Record buck: On wall for 46 years

When John Preaus was 16 years old, he shot the first buck he’d ever seen.
“I was a junior in high school when I shot the buck on Cherry Ridge hunting club, a lease my dad joined to give my brother, Joe, and me a chance to deer hunt. Dad wasn’t a deer hunter, but he wanted us to have the chance to hang out with and learn from club members and savvy hunters like D. R. Mullins and Olen Forbess,” Preaus explained.
