Welcome Center designed to awaken history

DUBACH — The Dogtrot capital of the world now has a fitting way to welcome visitors to the area.
The Dogtrot Welcome Center opened its doors during the Dubach Market Days on Friday and Saturday to allow residents and visitors a chance to view the restored building.
One side of the house has been restored to the historical period during which it was made popular, while the other has been turned into a gift shop and welcome center.
Whitney Chistofferson, of Dubach, examined the house on Saturday.
“It’s really cool,” Christofferson said.

My mom is exquisite.
Yes, she’s beautiful. Perfectly coiffed and accessorized, to me she’s the quintessential Southern Belle.
But while that’s what the average person will notice about my mom, it’s not what makes her so wonderful to me. My mom’s finest qualities actually resonate from within.

Woods tribute a collaborative effort

I want to give a big thank you to all the people that supported our recent “Joe Woods Wildwood Express Showcase” at the Dixie Center for the Arts. This was a show to benefit the Dixie’s operating expenses. The Dixie is an important part of downtown Ruston and Lincoln Parish and needs to be supported by the community.
This effort means a great deal to me and the whole Woods family. Joe spent many years providing good clean family entertainment in the Dixie and encouraged many aspiring musicians.
