Lombardi Trophy visits Squire Creek

CHOUDRANT — Click, click, click.
Every few minutes or so, there would be the flash of a camera focusing in on a shiny trophy situated at various locations at the Squire Creek Golf and Country Club course on Wednesday.
For a while, the trophy sat atop the counter in the pro shop. Later, it would be held up by a passerby, curious as if this was the real thing.
Well, it was.
It was the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the one brought back to the state by the New Orleans Saints following their memorable march to a Super Bowl championship after the 2009 NFL season.

Techsters upset FSU; ’Dogs sweep Valley

Louisiana Tech freshman Erin Kipp hit a pinch hit, two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning and senior Meghan Krieg pitched a two-hitter as the Lady Techsters upset Fresno State 2-0 in their opener in the 2011 Western Athletic Conference tournament opener Wednesday night in Fresno, Calif.
