Hair Nation to rock ARToberfest

Hair Nation will be performing at the second annual ARToberfest on Thursday. The event will be held at Ruston’s Historic Fire Station, located at 200 E. Mississippi Ave. Lunar Star Records recording artist Kevin Poland (vocals), John Shadowinds (guitars), Nathan Abijah Keesler (bass guitar) and Ross Volentine (drums) are slated to perform Hair Metal Hits from the 1980s.

LAECA to present conference

Humphries to be recognized

Louisiana Early Childhood Association (LAECA) will hold its 45th annual conference in Alexandria at the Sai Conference Center on Oct. 20-22.
Jean Feldman, recognized early childhood speaker from Georgia, will be the keynote speaker. Janie H. Humphries, retired early childhood professor from Louisiana Tech University and current president of the Southern Early Childhood Association, will be recognized at a reception on Friday at the conference.

The Grambling City Council

The Grambling City Council will hold a Special Call Meeting Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. at Grambling City Hall/ Community Center, 127 King Street, Grambling, Louisiana for the purpose of the following:
Amend 2011 Budget
Any other pertinent matter brought before the council.
In accordance with Lawrason Act [R. S. 42:6 and R. S. 42:7], the Council has the right to go into Executive Session if deemed necessary
