Funeral services for Mary A. Caldwell, 72, of Choudrant, LA will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant, LA with Bro. Brad Jones officiating the service. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Choudrant under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Caldwell was born in Monroe, LA on December 14, 1938 and died on December 25, 2010 in Choudrant, LA. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant, LA. She is survived by her husband, Raymond S. Caldwell Sr.

Memorial service for Larry Gossler, 68, of Dubach will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA. Bro. Rick Williams will officiate the service. Mr. Gossler was born on June 9, 1942 in Pavo, GA and died on December 25, 2010 in Dubach, LA. He served in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Gossler was retired from Rockwell International as an electrical engineer. He is survived by his wife, Luz B. Gossler of Dubach, LA; son, Larry B. Gossler, Jr.
Walter Tracy Smith and Macelle Taylor Smith celebrated with their children, who threw them a party on their 60th wedding anniversary. The Smiths were married Dec. 20, 1950. Their children are Randy Smith and wife Gayle, Wayne Smith and wife Jackie, Rodney Smith and wife Precia, Ken Smith, Stacy Smith, Stella Craighead and husband Todd.
Their grandchildren are Brian Smith, Jeffery Smith, Stephanie Smith, Greg Smith, Brad Smith, Sarah Smith, Samantha Smith, Chris Craighead, Taylor Craighead and Macey Craighead. Their great-grandchild is Cullen Smith.

A proposed ordinance to provide Choudrant Mayor Bill Sanderson with a salary will be a matter of discussion at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Choudrant Town Hall. Village clerk Celeste Butler said a yearly salary of $15,000 will be up for review.
