Tech ‘O’ has talent, depth

The quarterback (Matt Kubik), a wide receiver (Seneca Chambers) and two linemen (Aaron Lips, Marcus Stewart) will be absent from the No. 1 “O” that finished among the top 70 in various NCAA 1-A statistical departments.
Nevertheless, there’s talent and experience accenting a 2006 squad that will have to deal with—surprise, surprise, yet another monstrous schedule.
Back as starters will be:
Running back: Mark Dillard; wide receiver: Johnathan Holland and Eric Newman; tight end: Anthony James; tackle: Ryan Considine and Tyler Miller; guard: Marcus Lindsey.

Learn Peach Fest history

These historical figures, along with several others, are what Louisiana Tech University’s associate dean and interim director of the School of Human Ecology Linda Sivils has unearthed in her two year research stint to discover more about the Peach Festival. Sivils started with her research hoping just to gain more insight to the Dixie queens’ lives and where they were now. What she gained was an intensive knowledge on the pageant and the festival.

U.S. war on terror not dead yet

Will this be the turning point in the war?
I’ve heard yeas and nays to answer this question from people who support the war and from those who hate it. I’ve given it plenty of thought, and it’s brought a fuzzy response to my mind, as well as
several recollections since the war began.
I remember the day the President declared war. It was my roommate’s birthday, and we spent the evening eating cake and watching the air strike on the other side of the world. Surely this war wouldn’t last long, I thought. We’re the most powerful country in the world, right?

Theater plans grand opening

The title and presenting sponsors of the grand opening include Community Trust Bank and Hixson Auto Group, respectively.
Community Trust Bank will also sponsor the Digital on-Screen Pre-Show Countdown, which is now on sale through Sharon Furrate at 225-954-7991.
The new theater in Ruston represents the second Celebrity Theatres project from Developer Morrison Companies, which is managed by Celebrity Theatres, Inc., based in Baton Rouge.
