GSU looks to get back on track at ULM

Grambling State is hoping the third time will be the charm as the Tigers take on the University of Louisiana-Monroe at 6 p.m. Saturday at Malone Stadium in Monroe.
GSU and ULM and have squared off twice previously on the football field, with the Warhawks winning 28-14 in 2007 and 35-7 in 2011.
Those two games drew plenty of north Louisiana fans and marks ULM’s second and third largest home game crowds of all time with 30,101 cheering on the teams in 2007 and 26,532 in 2011.

Lady Techsters to host Fairfield Volleyball Invitational

The Louisiana Tech Volleyball team is set to welcome three teams to Ruston for the Louisiana Tech Fairfield Volleyball Invitational with a total of six matches scheduled for today and Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The tournament will commence today with a 10 a.m. match featuring Western Michigan (2-1) and New Orleans (0-4), while Tech (2-2) will begin tournament play approximately at noon following the conclusion of that match. The Lady Techsters will face off against the Cowgirls of McNeese State (3-1) to begin their part this weekend’s competition.

Tech soccer team heads south to battle in-state foes

The Louisiana Tech soccer team heads south this weekend to take on two in-state foes along I-10 beginning at 7 p.m. tonight versus UL-Lafayette and on Sunday at 1 p.m. against McNeese State.
Tech (1-3-1) is coming off an appearance in the Trojan Classic tournament where they notched their first win of the season, a 2-0 shutout of Troy, and suffered a hard-fought 1-0 loss to South Alabama.
