Degrie, Elizabeth 8-13 NEW.jpg

Holidays have a weird way of making people nostalgic.
Since I don’t have any children yet, I don’t watch the Disney Channel unless I’m stuck in a doctor’s waiting room with nothing better to do. Residents learn about the orphan trains

in

From 1854 to 1929, more than 250,000 orphaned and unwanted children were put on trains and given away.

Ruston’s City Court has a new home. After 40 years on the second floor of City Hall, the courtroom, judge’s office, probation office and other court services have moved downstairs.

The renovated, state-of-the art facilities occupy space that formerly housed the city’s police department. The approximately $900,000 court renovation project is part of a multi-phase city hall-civic center complex upgrade.
