First of all, I don’t wish a stroke on anyone.
It’s that unexpected and unwanted territory that nobody wants to discover.
But for me personally, I have faced it as a challenge to conquer and remain positive.

On Oct. 15, 1861, 21-year-old Isom Franklin enlisted in the 35th North Carolina Regiment, Infantry Company K. By Jan. 1862, the unit was transferred to the Confederate Service, joining the ranks of the Army of Northern Virginia, commanded by Gen. Robert E. Lee.
Pvt. Franklin survived the war — he saw action all four years — and moved his family to North Louisiana around 1889, settling in the Mineral Springs Community of a relatively new place called Lincoln Parish. He died in 1910 of pneumonia at age 70.
His simple tombstone lists only his date of birth and date of death.
