Grambling State dominated the Southwestern Athletic Conference this season, going 9-0 in SWAC play for a second straight season.
So it’s only fitting that the Tigers also dominated the All-SWAC Awards list released Wednesday by the league office.
Grambling State quarterback Devante Kincade was named Offensive Player of the Year, and fellow Tiger Donovan McCray secured Defensive Player of the Year accolades while GSU head coach Broderick Fobbs was honored with his third straight SWAC Coach of the Year award.

GRAMBLING — It’s been an undeniably impressive first three seasons for Grambling State University football coach Broderick Fobbs.
Fobbs has been named Southwestern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in all three of those seasons, yet there’s still one elusive prize the G-Men have been unable to obtain under his leadership.
The Tigers hope to give their leader his first SWAC championship at 3 p.m. Saturday when they kick off the conference title game at NRG Stadium in Houston.
That game will be televised live on ESPNU.

FARMERVILLE — A tainter gate on the T.T. Fields Memorial Spillway were opened Tuesday morning to allow the draw down of Lake D’Arbonne to remain around five feet below pool stage.
A storm system that moved into Union Parish early Monday had dumped three inches of rainfall across the parish by early Tuesday afternoon.
Bruce Hampton, president of the Bayou D’Arbonne Lake Watershed Commission, said the decision to allow water to move from the lake into Bayou D’Arbonne was made to allow the lake to stay at the level set before the draw down began in early September.
