Cedar Creek Middle School teams take wins

in

The Cedar Creek Middle School football teams had another big week as both teams came away with a win against Calhoun.
The seventh-grade team finished with a 24-14 win, with Collin Moak leading the way with 71 yards rushing and a key interception.
The Cougars were also able to play their sixth-grade team, with big contributions from Clayton Guyotte, Devin Jung and Jared Miller.
The eighth-grade team was solid on both sides of the ball. They were able to play some hard-nosed defense with Eli Gray and Josh Riggs winning the battle in the trenches.

Tech golfers stand 14th

in

BURLINGTON, Iowa (Sept. 15, 2013) – Victor Lange and Ben Robinson led with a pair of two-over-par performances as Louisiana Tech stands in 14th place after the first round of action at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
The Bulldogs, after shooting 306 (18-over-par) in the first round, are only one shot behind 50th-ranked Chattanooga and six shots behind 17th-ranked LSU.
Houston, ranked 25th as a team, leads with a team score of 1-over-par (289).
The second of three rounds will begin this morning with Louisiana Tech teeing off at 9:45 a.m.

Sportsman’s Jamboree set for Thursday

The 34th Annual Sportsman’s Jamboree will be held Thursday at the Thomas Assembly Center at Louisiana Tech.
The Special guest speaker will be nationally known entertainer and hunter Ray Eye from Missouri.
What’s new in outdoor products will be displayed around the rotunda at the TAC and numerous door prizes will be awarded.
Doors open will at 4 with the program beginning at 6:30.
The event is free to the public.

Emmanuel, Glesmann unite in matrimony

Sarah Emmanuel, daughter of Tsegai and Karen Emmanuel, of Ruston, was married May 26 to Richard Glesmann, son of Glen Glesmann and Deborah Marshall, of Wayland, Mass.

The Rev. Deanne Vandiver performed the ceremony at The Chicory in New Orleans. A reception followed at The Chicory.

The maid of honor was Rebecca Ribka Rooney, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Adam Joseph, cousin of the bride, and Christine Coen, sister of the groom.

Kelpe, Northen wed

Morgan Lynn Kelpe, of Ruston, and Gary Thomas Northen III, of Shreveport, exchanged wedding vows in a double ring ceremony held at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Bridge Community Church.

The ceremony was officiated by Joben Murray.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jim Finley and Mr. Bruce Kelpe, all of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Goss Sr., Mrs. Shelby Kirkham and Mrs. Marilyn Rhodes, all of Ruston.
