GSU President Frank Pogue opened the third annual luncheon by saying everyone was present to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Pogue also had a grand announcement for those in attendance — the official naming of the new GSU Fighting Tiger.
The 13-foot tiger statue was erected in late 2013, and Pogue said he had never seen such a thing.
“I had never seen students and other people so eager to take a photo with something before it was even put up,” he said. “We had 150 students enter the naming competition. Of those students we narrowed it down to the Top 10.”
Pogue said from there students voted on what the official name of the Fighting Tiger would be.
