TOWN OF DUBACH
REGULAR MEETING OF TOWN COUNCIL The Town Council of Dubach, Louisiana met in Regular Session Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall.
Present were Honorable Bob Jensen, Mayor and Council members Vallie Carrico, Hattie Graham, Davie Powell, Robert Colvin, Donna Lewis, Officer Robert Owens, and Jessica Darden
with the Ruston Daily Leader.
Absent: None
Public Comments: Lloyd Byrnside said that Blvd. Street floods his home.
Citizens attended: Lloyd and Dana Byrnside
The Meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by Robert Colvin.

Questions arise on tuition policy

For 2013, the Lincoln Parish Library was No. 1 in the state in per capita circulation.
Library Director Vivian McCain told board members this during the January meeting of the LPL Board of Control, which was held on Wednesday afternoon.
The agenda included a discussion about the tuition reimbursement policy, amendments to the dress code policy, a discussion about the possibility of purchasing a lift to replace the ladder and the election of officers for 2014.

Students to display GUTS

It takes guts to pursue one’s dreams, and residents can see students from universities along the Interstate 20 corridor do just that when the fifth annual G.U.T.S. art show opens up at a reception set from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Louisiana Tech University’s Rawle Enterprise Center.

LPSO assists in burglary ring arrests

Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the apprehension of two suspects yesterday that are believed to be involved in a major burglary ring in Ouachita Parish.
Joshua Jermaine Chisley, 20, of 208 Love Drive, Monroe, was arrested by LPSO deputies at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on the campus of Grambling State Univeristy.
Terrence Ty’re Williams, 19, of 12 Magnolia Drive, Monroe, was apprehended at approximately 8:50 a.m. Wednesday on GSU campus.

AKA honors veterans, military personnel

The Epsilon Psi Omega, Alpha Theta and Theta Lambda Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated hosted their annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service honoring veterans and military personnel on Jan. 19.
The program and reception was held at the Lewis Temple C.M.E. Church in Grambling. The theme was “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Legend and Leader Celebrating Through Songs, Music and Poetry.”
There were veterans and other military personnel at the celebration from all branches of the United States Armed Forces.
